Pet Preventative Medicine in Aroostook County
The secret to health and longevity in both people and pets is preventive medicine. One of the most crucial aspects of your pets’ preventive care and long-term health is their vaccination against communicable diseases.
Our services at Hotham’s Veterinary Services are available to keep your pet enjoying life to the fullest. Some of our suggestions are as follows:
- Routine Physicals
- Vaccinations
- Dental Care
- Prevention of Parasites ( fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
- Annual Blood Tests
Since no single vaccination regimen will be optimal for every pet in every circumstance, we will work together with you and your pet to determine exactly what they need to stay healthy. We advise starting the parvo/distemper round of immunizations for puppies when they are between six and eight weeks old. Heartworm and Lyme disease testing and treatment are available. We strongly encourage kennel cough vaccine for animals that frequently board out or go to pet daycare. In addition to the rabies immunisation, kittens also receive the distemper vaccine.
We strongly advise detecting feline leukaemia in kittens and immunising them against it. We also advocate FIV and feline AIDS testing. We also provide care for various breeds of pets, including guinea pigs, ferrets, rabbits, rats, and mice. Additionally, some of these animals might need medical treatments or immunizations.
